AA Press Release - TOP AWARD FOR MULLINGAR PARK HOTEL

The AA Business Hotel of the year for 2008 has been won by Mullingar Park Hotel in Co. Westmeath. It was announced at a gala ceremony in the Guinness Gravity Bar in Dublin on 5th November 2008. The ceremony was attended by leading figures in Irish Tourism, including Minister Martin Cullen.

This Award, introduced in 2006, is granted in recognition of the range of facilities on offer for the corporate market and for the consistent delivery of service excellence. In a sector which is highly important to the Irish economy we can again be proud of Irish standards, and certainly this year's winner is thoroughly deserving of the award.

"Our inspectors have been extremely impressed with the professionalism and market awareness of the management and staff at Mullingar Park ." Says AA Membership Director Dennis Fisk. "The business market can be very demanding to serve but its a critical segment and very important to the Irish economy."

Opened in September 2003, the AA 4 Star Mullingar Park Hotel boasts an excellent location in the Midlands, ideally located to gather custom from the four corners of the country.

The business centre is their most recent addition, custom built and adaptable to facilitate any size of event.  The dedicated area is set slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the hotel and the extensive conference centre provides state of the art amenities. At the award ceremony last night Dennis Fisk also said that Tourism is and remains a hugely important industry for Ireland. It's also an area where the Irish talent for hospitality makes us stand out in the world.

"Irish Hotels and Guesthouses are a national asset. The quality of investment, both financial and in terms of personal commitment, is inspiring. Standards of cuisine have also improved enormously especially in recent years.
